The position

A driven junior urban designer with an affinity for landscape and outdoor space design. You’ll work in inclusive teams on complex design challenges in both urban and suburban contexts. You enjoy conducting thorough research, developing spatial concepts, and visualizing analyses. You’re excited about traffic studies, subdivision plans, and meticulously crafting them. You participate in our design workshops, collaborating with your team to bring out the best in every project.


Everyone on the team — regardless of discipline or experience — contributes to the design and has their own responsibility. ECHO recognizes each other’s talents and utilize them at the right moment. Giving and receiving constructive feedback is essential to our way of working. 


You prepare meetings and presentations, work on plans at various scales, and model in Vectorworks. Naturally, your professional knowledge is top-notch. In your designs, every detail is correct, and everything is polished.

ECHO is designing livable urban areas with an interdisciplinary team comprising urban planners, landscape architects, and architects. They see densification as an opportunity to create more space through smart design. Through our integrated approach, ECHO can deviate from traditional urban layouts and establish new standards. Consider it important that you;

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant work/traineeship experience

  • an affinity with inner-city assignments, subdivision plans and the development of outdoor space

  • excellent visual imagination

  • knowledge of software programmes such as Adobe Illustator, InDesign and Photoshop and Vectorworks and/or Rhino is a preference

  • a successfully completed Master’s degree in Urbanism

  • are fluent in Dutch.
