Every year, POLIS endeavors to enrich our educational experience by addressing significant themes relevant to our fields of study and the broader global community. This year, we are excited to announce our theme: "Togetherness in Diversity." We envision a world where the rich tapestry of human diversity is celebrated, and our commitment is to foster an inclusive learning environment that embraces togetherness within diversity. Our goal is to create a space where voices from all backgrounds are heard, valued, and empowered, recognizing that our differences are what make us stronger together.

Vision for the year

We invite you to think about the challenges within the theme of "Togetherness in Diversity" and to initiate meaningful discussions around them. These challenges exist in our everyday lives, often unnoticed, and we believe that by bringing them to the forefront, we can foster greater understanding and empathy. As POLIS we want to create a platform of collective learning and this way create awareness of sensitive yet critical topics like decolonization, intersectionality, and spatial justice. By educating ourselves on these issues, we can engage in respectful and constructive discussions and take meaningful action toward positive change.

In the upcoming academic year of 2024-2025, we aim to immerse ourselves in this theme through various events, trips, publications like our magazine Atlantis, and interactive encounters. Our goal is to address complex terminologies, showcase diverse perspectives, and raise awareness of these significant topics. 

We hope that by raising awareness for these topics, our academic work, future research and designs will have a more positive impact on our built environment, making the world we live in more inclusive.
