Call for Content

We are excited to invite submissions for our upcoming 35th issues of Atlantis. This academic year, we aim to celebrate and explore the theme of “Togetherness in Diversity.” To do so, we open up the magazine from Urbanism and Landscape Architecture to all the Tracks at Bouwkunde, TU Delft, and not only. Whether you're a student, researcher, or practitioner in urbanism, landscape architecture, architecture, building technology, management of the built environment or other related fields, we welcome your insightful perspectives!


This academic year, we will be publishing the first thematic issue as the following:


Issue #35.1: Identities - Perspectives of Privilege and Discrimination


This issue seeks to explore the multifaceted dimensions of identity and the ways in which privilege and discrimination intersect. We invite both visual and written content that discuss, challenge, and offer insights into the following topics (but are not limited to):

  • Intersectionality: Exploring the interconnected nature of social categorizations such as race, gender, class, and sexuality, and their implications for privilege and discrimination.

  • Decolonization: Strategies and reflections on dismantling colonial mindsets, structures, and practices, and reclaiming indigenous and marginalized identities.

Submission Guidelines

We encourage submissions from a diverse range of disciplines, including but not limited to urbanism, landscape architecture, architecture, building technology, management of the built environment. Interdisciplinary approaches are highly welcome.


Abstract Guidelines:


Written Content:

  • Articles, essays, research papers, opinion pieces, theoretical explorations, case studies, interviews,...

  • Length: 250-300 words

  • Full Paper Length (if accepted): 2,000-4,000 words, including at least 3 visuals

  • Format: Google Docs or PDF

  • Language: English

  • Please submit your abstract (250 words) outlining your proposed contribution, along with a brief author biography, to atlantismagazinetudelft@gmail.com with the subject title. “#35.1 Atlantis Magazine Abstract Submission - [Issue Name]”.

Visual Content:

  • Artwork, photography, digital media, visual storytelling, collages, sketches, renders, graphic novels, visual essays, games,…

  • Length: max. 100 words

  • Format: JPEG, PNG, PDF

  • Resolution: Minimum 300 DPI for artwork and photography

  • Size: Minimum 800 x 600 pixels

  • Language of Caption: English

  • Details: Please submit your abstract (100 words) outlining your proposed contribution, along with first sketches/visuals and a brief author biography, to atlantismagazinetudelft@gmail.com with the subject title. “#35.1 Atlantis Magazine Visual Submission - [Issue Name]”.

  • Full Paper Submission Deadline for first round of review (if accepted): 29.09.2024
